MIAT Mongolian Airlines is all set to take delivery of its first Boeing 787-9 this week, on a lease from AerCap. The first 787-9 will arrive in Ulaanbaatar on 10 August with a second to be delivered in Q1 of 2024. The aircraft has 292 seats – 30 business, 36 premium economy and 226 economy seats. The airline plans to deploy the aircraft on Frankfurt, Istanbul and Seoul routes with gradual expansion in the US market. The direct flights could start soon with the Mongolia’s prime minster visit of Washington DC, where he stated US flights will commence in Q2
