Lufthansa Group has welcomed the first 787-9 aircraft into its fleet. Named “Berlin”, the  aircraft will operate long-haul services to New York (Newark) from December 1, 2022 The first Boeing 787-9 in the Lufthansa fleet, with the registration D-ABPA, was christened at Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) by Governing Mayor Franziska Giffey.
