Lufthansa has extended the tenures of chief executive Carsten Spohr and chief financial officer Remco Steenbergen by five years. “I am delighted that the contract extensions for Carsten Spohr and Remco Steenbergen have been concluded,” said Karl-Ludwig Kley, chairman of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Lufthansa AG. Spohr has been an executive board member since 2011 and its chairman since 2014, a period in which he “not only mastered the most difficult crises and challenges but has also been responsible for the three most economically successful years in the group’s history,” according to Kley.
