Korean Air Lines has reported a 50% jump in third-quarter operating profit on the back of lower prices of imported jet fuel. The carrier has posted an operating profit of 240.7 billion won (US$222 million) in the July-September period, up from a profit of 160.1 billion won in the year-earlier period. Revenue fell 0.6% to 3.17 trillion won. The airline made a net loss of 392 billion won, however, due to foreign debt-related conversion losses and increased interest costs. In the third quarter of 2013, it posted a net profit of 335.4 billion won.
