JetBlue Airways experienced an 11.1% rise in July traffic, while revenue per seat rose 5% for the month. Even so, the airline shares fell 10.4%, to $3.87 after hitting a low of $3.86, along with their other competitors as stocks fell on Wall Street and oil prices increased once more. JetBlue passengers flew 3.06 billion miles last month, compared with 2.76 billion in July 2010. Capacity was increased by 11.6% and load factor was 85.9% in July, down from 86.2% a year ago.
