ITA Airways’ new Airbus A320neo  took off on its first commercial flight on February 20 from Rome Fiumicino to Palermo . With light blue livery and dedicated to Francesco Moser, an Italian cyclist whose career spanned the 1970s and 1980s, the aircraft will service short and medium-haul routes. “It will allow ITA Airways to further enrich its modern and environment-friendly fleet, which by 2026 will be made up of 80% of new generation aircraft with the consequent reduction of 1.3 million tons of CO2 emissions,” the carrier said in a statement.
