Pakistan’s Minister for Aviation, Ghulam Sarwar Khan, has confirmed that Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is not being privatised only restructured. Talking to the media in Rawalpindi over the weekend, he said the manpower load on the airline is being reduced as part of the restructuring plan and that the airline would be adding four new aircraft this year. The minister also described the Pakistan aviation industry as “lucky” since its losses during pandemic were much lower than other countries.
