Goldstar Airlines, a privately owned Ghanaian airliner, has negotiated for a lease to purchase aircrafts to operate from Accra to Baltimore, Gatwick and Guangzhou. Eric Bannerman, Chief Executive Officer has called on the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) to speed up the inspection of its aircraft and operational facilities for it to commence flying in Ghana. The air operator’s licence has been delayed for reasons unknown, added Bannerman. Goldstar Airlines has leased a MD-11, 747-300 and 767-300. Despite its readiness, GCAA has yet to inspect the airline’s maintenance and operational facilities.
