Finnair posts August traffic performance

In August, Finnair carried 969,800 passengers, which was 10.1% more than in August 2022 but 8.7% less than in July 2023. Finnair commented that the August passenger traffic figures improved year-on-year since the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has “mostly faded and as the Russian airspace was closed already during the comparison period”. The airline is still experiencing a negative impact of the Russian airspace closure especially on Asian passenger traffic figures, which is visible in August 2023 compared to the pre-pandemic figures.
