Pilots working for Dublin-based Emerald Airlines have voted in favour of industrial action, including strikes, the Fórsa trade union has announced. In a statement, the union said “83.7% of our members in the Aer Lingus regional flight operator voted because of pay, conditions & for union recognition.” “If the rest of the airline industry recognises unions, then why not you, Emerald Air?”, Fórsa added. Emerald has earlier described the threat to strike as a “surprise” as it came as the year-old carrier was gearing up for the busy summer season.
