easyJet has announced the opening of a four-bay maintenance hangar at Berlin-Brandenburg airport. easyJet is to base its Austrian-registered continental fleet at the facility, which was opened on January 11 on foot of the carrier’s 20 million euros’ investment in the Berlin-Brandenburg region. Among those to attend the ribbon-cutting at the hangar were Jörg Steinbach, minister for economic affairs, labour and energy of the State of Brandenburg, Aletta von Massenbach, chairwoman of the management board of the airport, which is known in Germany as Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH, as well as Thomas Haagensen, group markets director at easyJet.
