China Southern’s Chongqing Airlines may be transformed into a low-cost carrier (LCC) if recent press reports are to be believed. The airline has converted its four A319-100s into all-economy configurations to be deployed on flights on high-altitude and tourist flights out of Chongqing to Lijiang, Lhasa, and Jiuzhaigou. There is the possibility for these to be used to provide flights on a low-cost carrier basis.
