Caribbean Airlines has hit back at rumours its acquisition of Air Jamaica is on the ropes with hints that the deal could be closed by the end of this month. The board of Caribbean Airlines has been forced to issue such a statement upon a call by opposition leader Portia Simpson Miller for the Government of Jamaica to provide clarity on the deal after a rumour was heard that the deal might be off. A fact the board denies. It says it will relaunch the Air Jamaica Brand on January 14, under the theme ‘One Caribbean airline, two brands’.
