Azerbaijan Airlines ramps its long-haul fleet with firm order of eight 787-8 Dreamliner jets

Taking a step forward to expand and modernize its long-haul fleet, Azerbaijan Airlines has placed a firm order of eight 787-8 Dreamliners at a signing ceremony in Baku. The airline hopes that the newly ordered super-efficient jets will enable it to profitably expand to new destinations from Azerbaijan and boost inbound tourism. “The signing of a contract with Boeing for the purchase of modern wide-body Boeing 787 Dreamliners is an important step in modernizing the fleet and increasing the level of AZAL air transportation,” commented Jahangir Asgarov, president of Azerbaijan Airlines. He also thanked President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev for his support.
