ASUR passenger traffic increases 1.8% in December 2023, year-on-year

ASUR’s passenger numbers increased by 1.8% in December 2023, compared to the same period a year prior. The airline reached a total of 6.5 million passengers during this period. Specifically, ASUR passenger numbers in Puerto Rico increased by 11.2% and in Mexico by 4.5%. The airport operator said the passenger growth was driven by increases in international traffic in both countries. However, ASUR passenger growth in Columbia declined by 10.8%. It was impacted by the suspension of operations of two local airlines in the beginning of 2023, which resulted in a 14.2% decline in domestic traffic.
