Latvian flag carrier airBaltic has confirmed that it is now accepting Bitcoin as a method of payment. airBaltic becomes the first airline to accept Bitcoin directly, rather than through a third party. However the airline still charges a €5.99 transaction fee for bookings using Bitcoin, while passengers using airBaltic’s loyalty card are exempt from the fee.
