Air New Zealand is working with SpaceX and its satellite internet constellation, Starlink, to provide free internet onboard domestic aircraft in late 2024. The service will be installed on a domestic jet and an ATR. Air New Zealand is considering further roll out of Starlink on other aircraft in its domestic fleet in 2025 if the move proves successful. “We’re always looking at how new and innovative technology can deliver improved customer experiences,” said Air New Zealand chief digital officer Nikhil Ravishankar. “With the world’s largest satellite constellation, exploring in-motion connectivity on our aircraft with Starlink was a no brainer.”
