The Indian civil aviation minister Hardeep Singh Puri has stated that the planned sale of Air India has been delayed due to the Covid-19 wave currently impacting the country but he claims that the sale will still happen in 2021. “Air India is getting disinvested. It will take some time due to the pandemic. I want to assure you that it will happen this year,” Puri told news outlet ANI. He added that the Indian government would close the financial bids “within 64 days”.
