After almost four years due to Covid travel restrictions, Air China has resumed flights between Munich and Shanghai. The route will be operated by its A350-900 aircraft and will run three times a week. Group travel by Chinese nationals to Germany is possible again without restrictions since August 2023. Furthermore, China announced in November 2023 that German citizens (along with other select European countries) can travel to China for 15 days visa-free. These changes are expected to boost passenger numbers throughout 2024.
