AirAsia signs IFE contract with Tune Box Avionics

AirAsia has signed a new seven-year contract valued at RM109.21 million with Tune Box Avionics for the sale and maintenance of an inflight entertainment (IFE) and connectivity solutions. Under the agreement, the airline will purchase four shipsets from Tune Box upon satisfaction of users acceptance test on prototype aircraft on the functionalities and performance and obtainment of certification from European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) Malaysia. The new solutions will enable AirAsia to offer additional inflight services that it can monetise including the sale of data roaming packages (in conjunction with
