TALKS TO BEGIN BETWEEN PAL AND ITS EMPLOYEE UNION

The Philippines executive secretary Paquito Ochoa has been assigned the task to broker talks between the management and ground crew labour union of Philippine Airlines (PAL).

Some 70% members of the PAL Employees Association (PALEA) voted to strike as a protest against management pressure to accept separation packages. The union has given the government and the PAL management seven days to act on their demands before holding a strike.
