The Philippines executive secretary Paquito Ochoa has been assigned the task to broker talks between the management and ground crew labour union of Philippine Airlines (PAL). Some 70% members of the PAL Employees Association (PALEA) voted to strike as a protest against management pressure to accept separation packages. The union has given the government and the PAL management seven days to act on their demands before holding a strike.
