Aldus Aviation draws on BNDES ECA financing

Aldus Aviation, the Shannon, Ireland-based international aircraft leasing company, completed the delivery of three new Embraer E-Jets in December, marking the first drawdowns under its export credit facility with BNDES, the Brazilian Export Bank.

Stephen Gorman, CEO of Aldus said: “Aldus is delighted to have initiated the first drawdowns and deliveries under this unique facility, which will be used for purchase and leaseback transactions. We have further aircraft in the pipeline and hope to utilize the full $375 million facility over the next 12-18 months. It has been a complex transaction and would like to thank both BNDES and SBCE for all their effort in getting this facility closed”.

Embraer’s Paul Cesar, President of Commercial Aircraft, said: “This facility is ground-breaking and BNDES and Aldus should both be congratulated on their tenacity in getting it concluded. Naturally, Embraer is delighted to have an operating lessor with a 14 aircraft facility specifically for E-Jets available to assist Embraer in delivering aircraft in the current difficult financing market.”
