LEVEL adds two A330-200 to its fleet

International Airlines Group’s (IAG) low cost long-haul airline, LEVEL, is expanding its fleet with two additional A330-200s, for delivery in 2019, taking its total order for the type to seven.

This latest commitment comes less than 12 months after IAG purchased the last batch of three A330-200s. They are configured with 314 seats, 21 premium economy and 293 economy.

LEVEL placed an order for CF6-80E engines to power its two new A330 aircraft and signed a 10-year TrueChoice Flight Hour agreement for the maintenance, repair and overhaul of the engines. The engine order and TrueChoice agreement are valued at more than $170 million list price and over the life of the service agreement.

“GE Aviation is honored that LEVEL selected the CF6-80E engines for its new aircraft and our TrueChoice Flight Hour agreement for its service support,” says Chaker Chahrour, vice president and general manager of Global Sales and Marketing for GE Aviation. “The CF6 engine has an outstanding performance record and will provide the airline with the highest reliability and durability to meet its growing customers’ needs.”

LEVEL currently operates two A330-200s from Barcelona, soon to be three, and one from Paris Orly, where it commenced services earlier this month, with an inaugural flight from Paris to Montreal.

LEVEL began operations in June 2017 with two new A330-200s flying from Barcelona to Los Angeles, San Francisco (Oakland), Buenos Aires and Punta Cana.
