Brindabella Airlines goes into receivership

As suspected, Australian regional airline Brindabella Airlines has entered receivership with the loss of 140 jobs.

All flights have been suspended indefinitely and staff have been advised that they will not receive any redundancy payments until the future of the company is resolved.

The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) grounded six Brindabella planes due to maintenance issues, which followed four aircraft being grounded in November as engine inspections were overdue.
