ASky to resume flights into Nigeria

ASky Airline has been cleared by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to resume flights into Nigeria.

The airline was banned by the NCAA after it transported a passenger from Liberia that was infected with the Ebola virus, who later died.

The NCAA later demanded ASky submit a satisfactory report with documentary evidence of measures taken to prevent the spread of the virus.

The NCAA commented on the lifting of the ban by saying: “Having carefully examined these measures put in place by your airline, especially the suspension of flights into Ebola infected countries, the management of NCAA has lifted the temporary suspension placed on [ASky] into and out of Nigeria.”

Commercial Director of ASky Airlines, Nowel Ngala, said: “We are very much aware of all the inconveniences this has caused our customers and the travel public at large, especially those who had commenced their journey before the suspension was imposed.”

ASky resumed flight operations on August 2nd.
