American Airlines moving more business to the cloud

In a bid to be more efficient, American Airlines Group has revealed to the media that it is moving more business functions to the cloud, specifically its customer website.

American CIO Maya Leibman has publicly commented that the airline is evaluating services from Amazon, IBM and Microsoft and will select a provider “within months.”

Like many other businesses, and airlines in particular, American Airlines needs to update its core legacy systems to be able to embrace the digitalisation movement and leverage new technologies to drive efficiencies, reliability of services and introduce new technologies.
