Aircraft crashes in Nepal

A Tara Air Twin Otter aircraft, carrying 23 passengers, has crashed in Nepal in a mountainous northern region midway through what should have been a 19-minute flight. Some 19 bodies have been found so far but all are feared to have perished in the accident.

Search efforts at the crash site some 16,000 feet (4,900 meters) above sea level have been hampered by dense fog.

The aircraft en route from Pokhara to Jomsom, the gateway for one of the most popular Himalayan trekking routes.
