Analysis by insurer Aon has stated that airlines can expect “buyer-friendly renewals” for their lead hull and liability insurance programs in the fourth quarter of 2010. This is good news when half of the world’s fleet, some 70% of lead hull and liability premiums, is expected to renew during the fourth quarter of the year. Rates for lead aviation hull and liability insurance are increasing however, the rose 7% between January and July of this year. Aon expects rates to tighten on news of any major incidents. For 2010 so far major aviation losses total $1.37 billion, over $1.61 billion
