Rolls-Royce has celebrated the delivery of the 1,000th Trent 700 engine to Cathay Pacific, which was the first airline to operate the Trent 700 in 1995. Since then, there are more than 1,400 engines either in service or on order. Eric Schulz, Rolls-Royce, Chief Operating Officer – Civil Aerospace, said: “The Trent 700 was specifically designed for the Airbus A330 and its superior performance has made it a market leader. Its first commercial flight with Cathay Pacific began the Trent engine family’s success and demand for the engine remains strong today.”
