Construction on Qingdao’s new airport has been speeded up, with plans to break ground this year with the main construction in 2017. When the airport is completed in 2019, it will be able to serve 35 million passengers, 500 thousand tonnes of cargo & mail and 300 thousand aircraft movements annually.
