EUROCONTROL REACHES FIRST STAGE IN FREE ROUTE PROGRAM

Eurocontrol’s Maastricht operation has implemented the first step of its Free Route Airspace Maastricht program, which will put into place a direct route network to reduce flight times and fuel burn. This now covers 142 new direct routes in the MUAC-controlled airspace, initially only during the off peak hours of the night to ensure maximum safety.
