Ireland’s regional airports are seeing traffic exceed pre-Covid levels, according to government data. Numbers published by the Central Statistics Office (CSO) showed April 2023 Cork, Kerry and Shannon passenger numbers up 19%, 27% and 33% on April 2019. Year-on-year, the three airports recorded increases of 30%, 21% and 39%. The country’s main airport in Dublin saw traffic up 1% on 2019, the CSO data showed, with the 9.4 million passengers for the first four months of 2023 also a 1% increase on 2019. Year-on-year, Dublin Airport handled 21% more passengers in April 2023.
