Hawaiian and Alaska Airlines have entered into a timing agreement with the US Department of Justice (DOJ) whereby they will not finalise their proposed merger until 90 days ‘following the date on which both parties have certified substantial compliance’ with the DOJ’s second request for information. The merger, originally announced in December 2023, set out to maintain both Hawaiian and Alaska Airlines brands while integrating the two into a single operating platform.
