The International Air Transport Association (IATA) and Airlines for Europe (A4E) have called on European Union transport ministers to reverse their previous rejection of a 2020 proposal by the European Commission for a “fully independent” regulator to assess the bloc’s air navigation service providers. The ministers are to meet on Monday (December 5), when, the IATA and A4E said, they should avoid any “last minute unsatisfactory compromise that will enable states to be judge and jury” regarding national air navigation service provider.
