The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has approved a five-year extension of the Virgin Australia and Singapore Airlines alliance, which was first agreed in 2011. Under the terms of the agreement, the airlines are allowed mutual access to the other’s network by virtue of codeshare agreements. The airline had requested a ten-year extension but the ACCC refused, saying that the market was too dynamic.
