Tony McCarthy, British Airways’s director of people and organisational effectiveness, who has been a key negotiator with the Unite trade union during the industrial dispute, will step down next spring. Following the merger with Spain’s Iberia, Maria da Cunha, BA’s head of legal affairs, is taking over part of McCarthy’s brief.
