GE Aviation has signed a 20-year technical solutions agreement with Air India. ‘As part of the solution agreement, GE will provide Air India with comprehensive material support, training and assistance on overhaul,’ the company said in a statement. The airline had ordered 23 GE90 engine-powered Boeing 777 aircraft in 2005 and currently operates 20 of these aircraft with the remaining three aircraft to be delivered in the next few years. According to the airline, the agreement will help it save cost and time on overhauling of engines, while it will also be utilized for servicing third parties.
