The Attorney General office of Libya has issued an order to imprison the former chairman of the board of Ariqiyah Airways. According to Libya Observer, the former chairman has been charged with “squandering public funds worth $950,000 Libyan ($195,000 USD) and facilitating the illegal seizure of $30,000 ($6100 USD) by one of the company’s agents.” Further reports by the newspaper say that an investigation revealed the unnamed official “disbursed an amount of $950,000 without submitting any documents or invoices proving the disbursement.
