Three US airlines are ranked in the country’s top 401(k) plans. Southwest, United Airlines and American Airlines all feature in the top 43 US 401k plans compiled by independent datatracker BrightScope. Southwest Airlines Pilots’ Retirement Savings Plan ranked third in the US, up one place from fourth in 2009. The United Airlines Pilots’ Directed Account Plan dropped from second place in 2009 to rank fifth this year. The American Airlines Pilot Retirement Benefit Program Variable Income Plan is a new entry at 22.
