IBA Group ranks the most improved airlines by unit CO2 emissions

Using IBA Insight’s Carbon Emissions Calculator, IBA has revealed the airlines and aircraft leasing companies who have driven the largest reductions in their CO2 output per seat kilometre since 2019. The most improved long-haul operator – Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) – was also the most significant improvement among all operators in the IBA ranking, the 18% reduction in CO2 output at SAS has been largely driven the retirement of A340 aircraft, the introduction of the A350 and the continued use of the A330. Similar A340 retirements at Iberia drove a 17% reduction in CO2 emissions. The most improved medium-haul operator was
