Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) has opened a new cargo handling centre at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (H-JAIA), supporting its focus on network expansion, facility investments and sustainability. WFS won the airport’s tender for a 20-year lease to operate the new 100,000 sq ft Cargo Building C, which is a key part of H-JAIA’s multi-billion-dollar master plan to accommodate the future aviation needs of the region. Prior to the global disruption to aviation services caused by the Covid pandemic, Atlanta was the world’s busiest international airport and a major air cargo hub handling more than 675,000 tonnes per annum.
