Wizz Air carried almost 3.8 million passengers in February 2023,  a 97.1% increase compared to February 2022. The Hungarian airline announced several new routes during the month, including Abu Dhabi-Bishkek, Vienna-Malaga and Rome-Rzeszow. However flights to and from Chisinau are to be suspended from March 14 due to security concerns related to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, with extra flights from next-door Romania to be laid on. The carrier signed a deal with Neste for the supply of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) from 2025 and claimed to operate with “amongst the lowest CO2 emissions per passenger/km amongst all competitor airlines”.
