Wizz Air flew over 4.9 million passengers in April 2023, a 32.3% increase compared to April 2022. The carrier’s load factor for the month topped 90%, it said, as capacity topped 5.4 million seats, a 21% increase. During the month the carrier made a £5 million investment in biofuel company and SAF producer Firefly and announced a deal with Cepsa, another producer, for the supply of SAF from 2025. The carrier added one aircraft to its Kutaisi, Georgia base and carried out first flights from Sofia and Naples to Riyadh.
