Virgin Atlantic airline pilots have voted in favour of industrial action over the holiday period in a bid to force the carrier to recognise the Professional Pilots Union (PPU). The PPU said that strikes were necessary after being excluded from negotiations on new terms and conditions. The PPU represents 400 of Virgin’s 900 pilots but Virgin recognises only the British Airline Pilots Association (Balpa).
