New Vietnamese carrier, Vietstar, is inching closely to take off as the Civil Aviation Authority of Viet Nam (CAAV) has reported to the Ministry of Transport that the airline’s documents meet the current legal regulations related to capital, agreements on aircraft leasing and qualifications of management boards. The licence now needs to be approved by the prime minister. Vietstar has startup capital of VND300 billion (US$13.39 million) and a fleet of seven aircraft: five for passengers (A320s, A321s and a 737) and two 737-300 Freighters for cargo.
