United Airlines have slowed the hiring of new pilots in the wake of Boeing’s production and certification delays, which continue to impact the aviation industry. In a memo sent to pilots, United had confirmed that it “will slow the pace of pilot hires this year due to continued new aircraft certification and manufacturing delays at Boeing.” The airline had 80 MAX 10s on order to be contractually delivered in 2024 and the aircraft has yet to receive certification.
