Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa’s joint venture, SunExpress, is working to reduce overcapacity on its 737-800 routes during the winter season. “The challenge operating a leisure carrier like SunExpress is the weak demand of capacity during the winter season compared to the summer,” CEO Paul Schwaiger said. The action could copy those made last year where the airline cut weekly flights between Europe, Turkey, Germany and Egypt.
