A proposed merger with JetBlue would “close no later than the first half of 2024”, Spirit Airlines said in a December 14 submission to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Spirit said in the SEC filing that the two parties on December 12 showed “substantial compliance” with US Justice Department requests for information, as part of the regulatory approval process of the deal, which was announced in July 2022.
