SpiceJet will take delivery of four Dash 8-400s by the winter. The Indian carrier intends to use the new turboprops to improve its network in Northeastern India, including the introduction of flights to Aizawl, Silchar & Gorakhpur from October. The Bombardier aircraft will also be used on SpiceJet’s existing Northeastern services to Guwahati and Agartala. SpiceJet plans to base the aircraft out of Kolkata. Of the fourteen Q400s currently operated by SpiceJet, most are on lease from Maple Leaf Financial Services and one from Nordic Aviation Capital.
